Put your pooch through its paces at Perth Beer Festival
Perthshire dog-owners are invited to bring their canine companions along to join in ‘dog agility’ fun at Perth Beer Festival on Saturday 12thMay, 12 noon-5pm.
Perth Beer Festival has teamed up with Perthshire animal welfare charity, PADS, to provide a fantastic new addition to Perth Beer Festival outdoor activities, the PADS dog agility area. Dog lovers will be able to bring their best dog friend along to Perth Beer Festival to take part in the fun Dog Agility Course by PADS.
Announcing the new addition to the line-up, Event Organiser, Allan Brown said, “We have a great line-up of fantastic entertainment on the North Inch at Perth Beer Festival including live-music stage, child-friendly activities and rugby 7s for festival goers to enjoy. We’re delighted to welcome PADS to our event & believe that dog owners will enjoy putting their canine companions through their paces”.
The tie-up might seem unusual however there’s a strong, shared connection. Perth Beer Festival is a fundraising event organised and managed by Perthshire Rugby Club. Life-long Perthshire Rugby supporter, Graham Watson, who sadly passed away last year was also a strong supporter & former Chairman of PADs and is greatly missed by members of both organisations.
Fun for dogs
The dog-friendly assault course will be designed & hosted by Auchterarder based, specialist dog trainer, Kairyn Beatson of Kairyn’s Canine Capers on behalf of PADS. It promises great fun for your pooch to enjoy within a dedicated area, adjacent to the Perth Beer Festival marquee, The area will be open from 12noon-4pm. Entry to the beer festival is free, dog agility will be £2 a shot with proceeds split between PADS and Perth Rugby Fundraising. This year’s event will also feature a splash of gin with a new gin bar featuring an excellent range of craft gins specially sourced from across Scotland alongside the festival’s usual line up of great beer alongside a delicious range of locally sourced BBQ food.
