The Calcutta Cup, last seen in jubilant scenes at Murrayfield following Scotland’s epic Six Nations victory against England, will be coming to Perth’s North Inch today to kick off celebrations of 150 years of rugby in Perth.
The famous trophy will be on display at Perth Beer Festival from 2.00pm – 4.30pm. Viewing will take place alongside the live music, rugby 7s action and an array of fun outdoor family activities of Perth Rugby Fundraiser, Perth Beer Festival – 12noon until 6pm on Saturday, including Dog Agility by PADs.
Festivities kicked off last night at Perth Comedy Night which featured an all-star stand-up line-up, headlined by John Moloney, Bruce Fummey, Garry Little and Jim Smith. Supported by great line up of Inveralmond local favourites.
Saturday 12thMay – Daytime Beer Festival & Craft Gin Bar
From 12 noon, kegs will be pouring at Perth Beer Festival & Craft Gin Bar. “20+ ales will be available for sampling alongside, 8 small batch craft gins in the new Craft Gin Bar” comments Brown. “We’ll have a live music stage and new for 2018, put your pooch through its paces at Dog Agility by PADS. Families can relax and enjoy the range of family-friendly activities including climbing wall, bike track & free Rugby Nippers taster sessions”. A delicious selection of locally sourced BBQ food will be on sale throughout the day.
Sponsored by The Tavern, Perth, kicks off from 11.30am. Teams from across Scotland will be up against local teams including Howe of Fife, Crieff & Strathearn & Blairgowrie. A Scottish Rugby National Women 7s tournament will take place also.
